AIB US-SE – Call for Board Nominations
Call for Chapter Executive Board and Conference Committee Board Nominations. The AIB US-SE Nominating Committee invites AIB members to submit nominees for two Conference Committee positions—Marketing Director and Academic Program Chair Elect—and two Executive Board positions—Chapter Chair and Vice Chapter Chair. Both the nominee and the nominating individual must have attended at least two (2) AIB US-SE annual conferences in the past five (5) years.
Executive Board members and Conference Committee members are expected to participate actively in ten virtual meetings per year. The Nominating Committee seeks to present a slate of accomplished scholars who reflect the diverse membership of AIB US-SE for election. To achieve this goal, the Committee relies on the membership to forward suggestions and recommendations. Self-nominations are also encouraged.
Nominations for the following positions are due by October 31, 2026.
Conference Committee – Marketing Director
Two-year term: December 1, 2026 – November 30, 2028
The Marketing Director is nominated and approved by the US-SE Chapter membership for a two-year term. Responsibilities include organizing and executing all communications at the direction of the Chapter Chair and Conference Chair, such as updating and managing the AIB US-SE email, website, social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X), and the Guidebook app for the annual conference.
Conference Committee – Academic Program Chair Elect
One-year term: December 1, 2026 – November 30, 2027
The Program Chair Elect shadows the Academic Program Chair for one year, then rotates into the Academic Program Chair role the following year. Both the Academic Program Chair and the Academic Program Chair Elect assist the Conference Chair(s) with all conference planning and execution responsibilities, focusing on the development of the AIB US-SE Annual Conference.
Executive Board – Chapter Chair
Three-year term: December 1, 2026 – November 30, 2029
The Chapter Chair is responsible for the administrative direction of the Chapter and carries out the executive decisions of the Chapter Executive Board. The Chair exercises general supervision over the activities of the Chapter and the functions of all other Chapter Officers. This includes, for example, establishing and overseeing future Chapter Annual Conference locations and venues, workshops and SIG collaborations, and any other events that further the mission of the Chapter. The Chapter Chair is an ex officio member of all committees.
Executive Board – Vice Chapter Chair
Three-year term: December 1, 2026 – November 30, 2029
The Vice Chair assists the Chapter Chair in the administration of Chapter affairs and performs the duties of the Chair in the event of the Chair’s absence, incapacity, or resignation. Additionally, the Vice Chair provides support and coordination assistance to all members of the Executive Board and Conference Planning Committee in the execution of their respective duties. The Vice Chair/Deputy Chair takes minutes for all official meetings of the Chapter.
Eligibility and Process
Prospective candidates must be members of AIB in good standing and must maintain AIB membership throughout their board term. The Nominating Committee determines the eligibility of all nominees, communicates meeting and involvement expectations, and decides on the final make-up of the candidates who will appear on the election ballot.
How to Submit a Nomination
Complete the online nomination form by October 31, 2026. The form asks for your name and work email address, the nominee’s name, and the position(s) for which you are nominating them (Marketing Director, Academic Program Chair Elect, Executive Board Chapter Chair, Executive Board Vice Chapter Chair). You may also upload a file or use the comment box to share information about the nominee and your rationale—for example, a letter, CV, or other relevant documentation.
